| Record
of the Lodoss Wars (Complete Series): Quite possibly the
best anime series of all time. It is certainly the most engrossing
for gamers. I could try to write a witty critique of the series but
I do not believe I could do it justice. |
| Ah!
My Goddess - The Movie: Reviews of this title vary somewhat but
the vast majority of people who watch it simply love it. The
animation is excellent, the storyline is classic, and the characters are easily
relatable to. |
|
Berserk Season One (Complete Series): One of the most intense and
bloody anime series available. Mercenary warriors from feudal times
turn their small company into a vast army and becomes powerful enough to
challenge kingdoms. The demonic theme to this anime doesn't come out
until the end of Season One, making fans crave more... too bad there is no
Season Two. |
| Project
A-Ko: Pure simplicity of anime. This anime first
appeared in the mid '80s but has held enough simple attraction to spawn
several sequels and had held fans for decades. |
| Ranma
1/2 - The Digital Dojo - The Complete First Season: Those familiar
with the Ranma 1/2 series need no introduction. To those who have
not encountered the transgender hero, it isn't as bad as it
sounds.... Trust me, this one is worth getting. |
| Rurouni
Kenshin - Legendary Swordsman, Vol. 1: This series has
unfortunately gained the nickname "Samurai X" in the US.
This series is set in Feudal Japan and offers a host of interesting
characters and situations. The fight scenes are sensational but
vividly bloody. |
| The
Slayers - DVD Collection Special Edition (Episodes 1-26):
Slapstick style comedy, and risqué humor, this series has a wonderful dichotomy
and is great for lightening the mood. D&D style action with a
comic bent make this series worth collecting. |
| Tenchi
Muyo - OAV DVD Boxed Set: This is the complete boxed set of the original
series. The animation is great, the characters are great, I don't
know what I can say about this series other than "get it." |
| Princess
Mononoke: This epic adventure pits the gods of the forest and
their human allies against human expansion and greed. This is a
sweeping epic that is well worth they time and money invested in watching
it. |
| Ninja
Scroll: Another samurai action adventure but this one has a
distinct supernatural edge and the hero has to fight against demonic
forces. A wonderful anime, you will love both the animation and the
characters. |
| Venus
Wars: This anime is one of my personal favorites. It is a very
"mild" anime and I would recommend this to anyone who either
does not know what anime is or has never seen anime before. |
