Ina Po was once a mortal who was brought to Traykon by Morval to fulfill a purpose. She had the skill set that made her uniquely qualified to act as a guardian of the Shadowlands. Without guardians, the denizens of the Shadowlands would have overrun the living Traykon and destroyed all that Morval built.

Accepting the mantle of the Goddess of Death and Magic, Ina Po became a major force in Traykon. Her focus was on the bodies of the dead that were brought back to a semblance of life in defiance of the soul being caught in the Shadowlands. She viewed corporeal undead as an abomination and ordered her followers to eliminate them. The animated bodies retained a link to their souls, compromising the barrier between the Shadowlands and the living Traykon.

Partnered with Ulan, it didn’t take long before the two of them became entangled in more ways than one. The two deities became lovers and soon thereafter became linked in power and influence. Where Ina Po was worried about the corporeal form of the dead, Ulan was concerned with their spirit. Their partnership was inevitable and their spheres of influence were complimentary.

Ina Po (Ee nah Poe), deity of death and magic, is most often portrayed as a stunning woman dressed in a beautiful gown. She is said to often tempt men and even women with her curvacious body and silken voice. Ina Po is a demanding deity who expects obedience from her followers.

Ina Po's priesthood has a strict hierarchy. Her clerics are known for their discipline and obedience to their superiors. Clerics of Ina Po arbitrate disputes, give advice, investigate magical curiosities, create magic items, and administer funerals. Clerics of lower level are expected to defer to ones of higher level at all times. They wear black or brown robes.

Her clerics pray for spells at dusk or moonrise. Holy days include Spirit Night, held during the Harvest Festival, where priests pass the night sitting vigil in crypts and graveyards ready to put the restless dead back into slumber. Temples also celebrate the anniversary date of former priests' deaths for their ascension to their goddess's side.

History/Relationships: Ina Po was once much more powerful and influential in Traykon. After T'lor created The Veil, her power weakened with the absence of most of her followers. T'loric priests and Magehunters began an extermination campaign against her priests and those of the other deities of magic. For centuries following the loss of Arcane magic in Traykon, Ina Po was steadily declining in power. Her role as Ulan's consort left her some worshipers and his divine protection bolstered the power of her clergy. She was considered a funerary deity until very recently. Now, with the return of magic, her power is beginning to grow again.

Ina Po is often associated with Ulan and the deities are consorts. Ina Po opposes T'lor and her priests do what they can to hamper his devout. Her temples are few and far between. Most of her temples are located in or near graveyards or catacombs, and they always contain crypts where powerful wizards are buried. They also contain extensive libraries of arcane lore and large collections of items that once belonged to great wizards from past eras. Nearly all of her temples have at least a small shrine to Ulan.

Dogma: Ina Po promotes using spells and magic items (though many of her followers insist she favors the creation of such things.) Ina Po tells her followers that magic is the key to all things. Ina Po promises that understanding, personal power, security, order, and control over fate come with the study of magic. She admonishes her followers to respect those who came before because they left their knowledge and died to make room for them. She reminds them that death is inevitable, but she promises that their learning and memory will be honored by those who come after them.

Avatar: Ina Po sends no Avatar to Traykon. Mostly, Ina Po operates through the dreams of her followers. She directs them to preserve the dead and set right great disruptions of the natural order.
