Dracten was raised in the area surrounding Saw-Tooth Bay. He developed arcane abilities at an early age and was one of the youngest War Leaders his tribe had ever produced. After a decade of killing goblins and humans, he ascended to the status of leader of his tribe by killing the chief.

It was at this time that the Veil spread across Traykon. Magic power drained from the dominate races as arcane spellcasters began to fall victim to the Veil. Curiously, the Kobold sorcerers were unaffected by the malefic power released on Traykon. Sensing his opportunity, Dracten began looking for openings that would grant him great power.

The opportunity presented itself when Dracten was leading a large hunting party into Grey Elf territory. The Grey Elves fled before his forces until they witnessed Dracten and his elite throwing fire from their fingertips. Most of the Grey Elves stopped fleeing and just stared. The leader of the elven forces fell to his knees before Dracten and begged him to return the magic to them. The Grey Elves had been devastated by their loss of magic. To them, Dracten seemed to be a god using their magic against them.

Dracten halted his assault and saw an opportunity for what it was. Led to the grand capital of the Grey Elves, Dracten and his elite sorcerers were accepted and welcomed with open arms. Soon, Dracten had formed a historic alliance between his people and the Grey Elves. Kobolds moved out of the western tip of the Dragons Mountains and poured into the traditional homeland of the Elves.

500 years have passed and Dracten is still alive and well. He sits on the council of elders, a group of 5 kobolds and 4 Grey Elves who make all decisions for the nation. The two races live in complete harmony with one another. Dracten and his race provide the Grey Elves with magic and number. The Grey Elves provide the strength of arms and craft ability.
